  • A: Solar Orb Ltd will complete a comprehensive survey of the existing roof structure to assess its condition, load-bearing capacity, and suitability for the installation of solar panels.

  • A: Yes, you can add a battery to your solar system later. Every solution we provide is modular, therefore easy to upgrade and expand.

  • A: Not with a standard grid-tied system. However, you could choose a battery solution with off-grid backup capability, which will provide this.

  • A: All manufacturers’ warranties vary depending on the brand you choose. We supply this information with every quotation. In addition to this, Solar Orb Ltd provides a 5-year workmanship warranty with all installations, giving you peace of mind.

  • A: Solar Orb Ltd is affiliated with Hometree Finance. Hometree Finance removes the biggest barrier to adopting solar and other green technologies: high upfront costs. Their plans allow homeowners to pay while benefiting from energy savings, often starting from £50–£75 per month.

  • A: Solar Orb Ltd does not use sub-contractors. Your installation team will consist of experienced, qualified engineers, all directly employed by Solar Orb Ltd and DBS checked.

  • A: Most residential rooftop solar installations are classed as permitted development, meaning you usually don’t need planning permission. It is imperative that the National Grid provides permission to install and that your project is certified correctly. Solar Orb Ltd takes care of all of this for you.

  • A: Solar Orb Ltd is a licensed waste carrier (Registration Number: CBDL613587) and will remove and recycle all waste materials in full compliance with: Simpler Recycling Regulations — ensuring proper segregation of recyclable streams (glass, metal, plastic, paper/card, and food waste) before disposal, and WEEE Directive requirements — guaranteeing the environmentally responsible treatment, recovery, and recycling of all electrical and electronic components, including solar panels and batteries.

  • After previously having the Solar Orb team install my solar panel and battery backup system, I asked them to come back and install some plaster-in infrared heating mats for me. It was an absolute no-brainer going with Solar Orb to complete this work for me. Out of all the quotes I received for my solar install, Rob was the only person who actually wanted to come round to my property to scope the work and was willing to listen to my requirements and discuss the pros/cons of different options. The whole team are super friendly, and nothing is too much trouble. For both this infrared heat mat install, and my solar panel install, the team left the house tidier than they found it. One day they were running a few minutes late, so they rang ahead to let me know as much. They keep you informed every step of the way. The whole team are fantastic, and I would recommend them to anyone who needs any electrical work doing.
